PRS for Music, Streatham & Kings Cross
Client: PRS for Music
GDM were appointed by PRS for Music (The Performing Rights Society) and undertook design works on their office relocation within London. The works comprised of the complete refurbishment of their existing 30,000ftsq office in Streatham as well as the CAT A to CAT B fit-out works on a 40, 000ftsq new build office within the Zone 1 area of London.
The Streatham office comprises of office space over 5 floors requiring the total strip out of all existing services and the installation of new Heating, Cooling and general lighting and power. A restricted site including a large ground floor retail outlet as well as adjoining residential flats provided complications to overcome during the on-site works. The office provides accommodation for some 300 employees.
The Zone 1 Central London office fit-out holds the main “Partner” spaces as well as those of the general day to day running of the business. Large open plan spaces are mixed with cellular/private spaces that also include areas to perform music as well as multifunctional spaces for staff and “Partners” alike.
GDM were influential in the CAT A works involving close liaison with the base build design team highlighting areas where base build services conflicted with the aspirational design for the fit-out works. By undertaking these works early in the process we were able to save money as well as valuable time on the fit-out programme.
