Firmly established at the forefront of the industry, the Watkin Jones Group is one of the most experienced and extensive developers of Student Accommodation schemes in the UK. They have over 20,000 student units in prime locations at key university sites nationwide.
The London Road project comprises the proposed construction of a new 425 bed student accommodation development over three to five floors, on the existing Co-op department store.
Our brief was to produce a series of technical assessments to support the planning application. The specific reports included;
The Energy Statement assessed the baseline, site wide carbon and energy consumption in order to consider all the options for including energy efficiency measures and low or zero carbon (renewable energy) on site.
The external lighting report took into account requirements relating to sustainability, ecology and visual impact within the local area and focussed on reducing light pollution.
Water Resource Efficiency
Water efficiency analysis was undertaken to identify potential water saving initiatives that may be employed at the development.
